CarbonHQ announces its pre-seed round!

CarbonHQ announces its pre-seed round!

We’re excited to announce that CarbonHQ has officially raised A$600,000 (~USD 390K) in a pre‑seed round—led by Galileo Ventures and Investible’s Climate Tech Fund.

CarbonHQ was founded in 2022 by Allen Fan and Eugene Datsky in Sydney. Allen brings deep carbon project experience and Eugene, a former engineer from Canva and JetBrains, handles product and tech leadership. Our mission? Build a sleek, all-in-one platform that replaces messy Excel-based workflows with automation and transparency for carbon project developers.

This platform helps clean cooking developers, reforestation projects, and ecosystem restoration teams forecast emissions reductions, automate credit issuance, manage contracts and data, and stay audit-ready—all from one dashboard. In short: it’s Monday.com for carbon—but smarter, and built for credit developers.

Since launching the beta mid-2023, we’ve already tested the platform with developers across Uganda, Kenya, Vietnam, India, and the Netherlands, and even won the UNCDF / Clean Cooking Alliance innovation challenge in Kenya.

For us, this is more than just funding. It’s a validation of a product that’s solving a real problem. Clean cooking and carbon projects often spend years building spreadsheets, chasing paperwork, and battling data gaps. Investors saw this pain—and backed our vision to fix it.

What’s next? With the funding secured:

  • We’ll expand pilots and onboard more developers across East Africa and beyond.
  • The dev team will scale up—with hiring underway for engineers and product roles.
  • We’ll improve automation for methodologies across project types.
  • And continue building toward making carbon credit generation more accessible and trust-worthy.

Huge thanks to Galileo Ventures and Investible, especially their global Climate Tech Fund led by Ben Lindsay—they saw the vision early and joined us on this journey.

If you’re working on ecosystem restoration, clean cooking, or nature-based carbon projects—and want a better way to track credits and manage operations—let’s talk. We’re just getting started, and it’s only up from here.
